🫶 Job Description:
As our Shop Ambassador & Gear Specialist, you'll be the face of Sanction, representing everything we stand for and connecting with riders from all walks of life. Your mission? To help our customers find their perfect skateboard/snowboard gear, share your knowledge and passion, and make sure they leave our shop with smiles on their faces. You'll also get to keep the store looking fresh and assist with inventory management, the website, and more!
📚 Responsibilities:
- Give every customer a warm welcome, making them feel like they've found their new local shop.
- Guide our customers in selecting the best skateboard/snowboard equipment, apparel, and accessories that suit their style and needs.
- Share your deep knowledge of skateboarding/snowboarding, trends, and gear developments, helping riders stay on top of their game.
- Master the art of seamless sales transactions using our point-of-sale system, ensuring our customers have a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience.
- Be the superhero who handles customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with a positive attitude and a problem-solving mindset.
- Keep the shop looking fresh and inviting, from restocking shelves to folding gear like a pro and curating killer displays.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as receiving and unpacking merchandise, tagging products, and conducting regular stock checks.
- Pack orders, print labels and get everything ready to ship online orders.
- Stay in the loop with all things skateboarding/snowboarding, from new gear releases to events, so you can provide up-to-date and relevant information to our customers.
- Boost our sales targets by suggesting the best gear without the need to upsell like it's Glen Gary Glen Ross.
- Embrace the team spirit and contribute to creating a welcoming and fun work environment where we all support and motivate each other.
- Hang out with us during staff training sessions, product knowledge sessions, and meetings, sharing your insights, ideas, and stories.
🎒 Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent. Fancy degrees aren't necessary when your passion and knowledge are what count.
- Previous retail experience is a plus, especially if you've worked in a skateboard/snowboard shop or have a solid industry knowledge.
- Skate and snow runs through your veins! Your enthusiasm and deep understanding of equipment, brands, and skate culture make you an awesome ambassador.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to connect with customers and create a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere.
- You genuinely care about customer satisfaction and enjoy going the extra mile to ensure everyone leaves our shop with warm fuzzies.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with using a point-of-sale system.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and evenings, as our shop operates to accommodate customer schedules.
- Physical ability to handle tasks like lifting and moving heavy items, standing for extended periods, and bending and reaching.
